Distinguished Lecturer in RNA Biology Seminar Series

Every year, RNA Center trainees invite a leader in RNA research to present a seminar for the Distinguished Lecturer Seminar.

Previous Distinguished Lecturers:

2023: Dr. Katrin Karbstein (Scripps Research Institute, University of Florida). Dr. Karbstein has pioneered studies on mechanisms of ribosome assembly, quality control, and the molecular basis for ribosome-associated diseases.

2019: Dr. Lynne Maquat (University of Rochester). Dr. Maquat is a leader in RNA Biology and has made seminal contributions to our understanding of RNA decay pathways, including the discovery of nonsense-mediated decay (NMD).

Other Seminars

The Center also co-hosts outside speakers in other established seminar series, such as “The Thursday Seminar Series” and the Biochemistry Departmental Seminar Series.
