Distinguished Lecturer in RNA Biology Seminar Series
Every year, RNA Center trainees invite a leader in RNA research to present a seminar for the Distinguished Lecturer Seminar.
The 2022/2023 lecture will be given by Dr. Katrin Karbstein (Scripps Research Institute, University of Florida). Dr. Karbstein has pioneered studies on mechanisms of ribosome assembly, quality control, and the molecular basis for ribosome-associated diseases. Her seminar will be held on Thursday, March 30th, 2023 in 147 Nanaline Duke.
Previous Distinguished Lecturers:
2019: Dr. Lynne Maquat (University of Rochester). Dr. Maquat is a leader in RNA Biology and has made seminal contributions to our understanding of RNA decay pathways, including the discovery of nonsense-mediated decay (NMD).
Other Seminars
The Center also co-hosts outside speakers in other established seminar series, such as “The Thursday Seminar Series” and the Biochemistry Departmental Seminar Series.
